LIUDMILA ANOSHENKOVA

For me, painting — especially the space of a white canvas — is a territory where I move toward my inner freedom.
This practice emerged as a response to political escapism, when freedom of speech and artistic expression began to vanish in the country where I was born. Since then, I’ve been drawn to the stories of artists who chose flowers as their subject — a theme that is both sweet and exaggerated, almost decorative, yet deeply emotional.
I love that in this sugary surface, one can hide — and also fully surrender. My works are not just about color. They are about presence, resistance, and finding beauty when words are no longer safe.
